Die Probenahmesonde verdunnt und kuhlt das Aerosol uber ein keramisches, poroses Rohr mit Luft auf 300 ^oC. Die Messungen an zwei Mull- (MVA) und einer Biomasse- (BMA) Verbrennungsanlage ergaben mehrere, potenzielle Korrosionsursachen der Uberhitzer: Die MVA mit geringer Korrosion wies eine geringere Partikelzahl und gleichzeitig weniger klebrige und aggressive Partikel auf. Die Sulfatierung der Partikel in der Flugphase konnte uberdies um 50 % weiter fortschreiten als in der MVA mit hoher Korrosionsrate. Die Partikel mit Durchmessern zwischen 1 muund 20 mu, die jeweils im Minimum einer bimodalen Grossenverteilung lagen, zeigten das hochste korrosive Potenzial.
