Egoismus und Ellenbogenmentalitat habe es damals in diesem Ausmass nicht gegeben. Mit den modernen Zeiten habe sich alles zum Schlechteren verandert. Liegen die Dinge wirklich so einfach? Kann man -zugegebenermassen verkurzendsagen, die Moderne sei schuld an einer Entwicklung, die zur Individualisierung fuhrt? Und stimmt es, dass Individualisierung automatisch Entsolidarisierung nach sich zieht? Es musste gefragt werden, wodurch sich moderne Gesellschaften eigentlich auszeichnen und was genau der Begriff der Modernitat' meint? Vordergrundig scheint die Modernisierung eine Kennzeichnung der heutigen Zeit zu sein, die uberwiegend positiv bewertet wird, wenn man sich beispielsweise technische oder wirtschaftliche Errungenschaften vor Augen fuhrt. Weil die fortschreitende Modernisierung des 20. und 21. We spend more time and money on video games than on books, television, or film, and any serious thinker of our age should be concerned with these games, what they are saying about us, and what we are learning from them. Yet video games still remain relatively unexplored by both scholars and pundits alike. Few have advanced beyond outmoded and futile attempts to tie gameplay to violent behavior. With this canard now thoroughly and repeatedly disproven, it is time to delve deeper.
