Kapitel 5 über die geometrischen Aspekte der Mechanik behandelt ihre mathematisch-geometrischen Grundlagen und schlägt die Brücke zur modernen mechanischen Fachliteratur. Kapitel 6 definiert und illustriert die für das Studium nichtlinearer Dynamik und qualitativer Mechanik wesentlichen Begriffe und diskutiert qualitativ und quantitativ wichtige Beispiele für deterministisches Chaos. Das abschließende Kapitel 7 gibt eine kurze Einführung in kontinuierliche Systeme.
