Information Technology skill standards provide a common language for industry and education. It provides increased portability depending on attitude and performance of the professionals. The industry recognizes IT education programs that build competency among the students to perform the best in the new emerging trends in Information Technology. like Human Computer Interactions, Biometrics, Bioinformatics, Signal Processing. So this conference is organized to bring together leading academicians, industry experts and researchers in the area of emerging trends in Information Technology and facilitate personal interaction and discussions on various aspects of Information Technology. It also aims to provide a platform for the post-graduate students and research students to express their views about the emerging trends in Information Technology with interaction and exchange of ideas among the researchers and students from allover India. With this focus Technical/research papers are invited from the students of MCA/ M.Sc (CS) / M.Sc.(IT)/ MCM and research students on the following topics. * Biometrics * Data Communication and Security * Digital Image and Image Processing * Human Computer Interaction * Internet Technologies and Service Oriented Architecture * Artificial Intelligence and Its Applications

This volume includes the papers presented during the 1st Euro-Mediterranean Conference for Environmental Integration (EMCEI) which was held in Sousse, Tunisia in November 2017. This conference was jointly organized by the editorial office of the Euro-Mediterranean Journal for Environmental Integration in Sfax, Tunisia and Springer (MENA Publishing Program) in Germany. It aimed to give a more concrete expression to the Euro-Mediterranean integration process by supplementing existing North-South programs and agreements with a new multilateral scientific forum that emphasizes in particular the vulnerability and proactive remediation of the Euro-Mediterranean region from an environmental point of view. This volume gives a general and brief overview on current research focusing on emerging environmental issues and challenges and its applications to a variety of problems in the Euro-Mediterranean zone and surrounding regions. It contains over five hundred and eighty carefully refereed short contributions to the conference. Topics covered include (1) innovative approaches and methods for environmental sustainability, (2) environmental risk assessment, bioremediation, ecotoxicology, and environmental safety, (3) water resources assessment, planning, protection, and management, (4) environmental engineering and management, (5) natural resources: characterization, assessment, management, and valorization, (6) intelligent techniques in renewable energy (biomass, wind, waste, solar), (7) sustainable management of marine environment and coastal areas, (8) remote sensing and GIS for geo-environmental investigations, (9) environmental impacts of geo/natural hazards (earthquakes, landslides, volcanic, and marine hazards), and (10) the environmental health science (natural and social impacts on Human health). Presenting a wide range of topics and new results, this edited volume will appeal to anyone working in the subject area, including researchers and students interested to learn more about new advances in environmental research initiatives in view of the ever growing environmental degradation in the Euro-Mediterranean region, which has turned environmental and resource protection into an increasingly important issue hampering sustainable development and social welfare.

Unsteady-state operations of catalytic reactors provide plentiful opportunities for research and commercial realization of efficient heterogeneous catalytic processes. Forced unsteady state conditions generate unique distributions of process parameters and catalyst states often unattainable with traditional, steady-state operation. The unsteady-states can be created by periodic changes in input flow parameters, such as changes in inlet temperature and composition, catalyst circulation through reaction and regeneration zones, or periodic flow reversals through fixed catalyst bed. This can result in increased productivity, selectivity, capital savings and operating cost reduction (higher energy efficiency). Efficient environmental technologies for treatment of toxic emissions, acid rain and greenhouse gas emissions can also be developed using the unsteady-state concept. The Proceedings communicate recent progress in these areas of research and promote future development. The aims are to establish relations between academia, industry, engineers and scientists from all over the world, to stimulate new catalytic technologies as well as fundamental research, and to create new concepts for the development of effective catalytic systems. It presents the most up-to-date research in catalysis. - contains the most recent developments in catalytic research - includes research finding as well as their application to industry - a thorough source of information on the latest developments of industrial catalysis in Japan

This book contains detailed and structured approaches to tackling practical decision-making troubles using economic consideration and analytical methods in Municipal solid waste (MSW) management. Among all other types of environmental burdens, MSW management is still a mammoth task, and the worst part is that a suitable technique to curb the situation in developing countries has still not emerged. Municipal Solid Waste Management in Developing Countries will help fill this information gap based on information provided by field professionals. This information will be helpful to improve and manage solid waste systems through the application of modern management techniques. It covers all the fundamental concepts of MSWM; the various component systems, such as collection, transportation, processing, and disposal; and their integration. This book also discusses various component technologies available for the treatment, processing, and disposal of MSW. Written in view of actual scenarios in developing countries, it provides knowledge to develop solutions for prolonged problems in these nations. It is mainly for undergraduate and postgraduate students, research scholars, professionals, and policy makers.

BNCOD has, for the past 27 years, provided a forum for researchers world-wide to gather to discuss the topical issues in databaseresearch. As the researchch- lenges have evolved, so BNCOD has changed its topics of interest accordingly, now covering data management more widely. In doing so, it has evolved from a local conference mostly attended by British researchers to a truly international conference that happens to be held in Britain. This year, for instance, sign- cantly less than half of the presentations are from UK or Irish authors, other contributions coming from continental Europe, Asia and the USA. Currently, one of the most pressing challenges is to ?nd ways of evolving database technology to cope with its new role in underpinning the massively distributed and heterogeneous applications built on top of the Internet. This has a?ected both the ways in which data has been accessed and the ways in which it is represented, with XML data management becoming an important issue and, as such, heavily represented at this conference. It has also brought back issues of performance that might have been considered largely solved by the improvements in hardware, since data now has to be managed on devices of low power and small memory as well as on standard client and powerful server machines. We therefore invited papers on all aspects of data management, particularly relatedtohowdataisusedintheubiquitousenvironmentofthemodernInternet bycomplexdistributedandscienti?capplications.Ofthe56submissionsfrom14 countriesweselected15fullpapers,3shortpapersand7postersforpresentation, all of which appear in this volume along with 2 invited papers.
