Dafur ist es unerlasslich, zunachst seine Hegemonietheorie und den damit zusammenhangenden Erziehungsgedanken zu betrachten, was im nachsten Kapitel kurz zusammengefasst dargestellt werden soll. Ausserdem wird im spateren Verlauf sein Modell der Einheitsschule naher erlautert, um aufzuzeigen, welche Verknupfungen Gramsci zwischen Schulbildung und der gesellschaftlichen Funktion Intellektueller sieht. Schliesslich liegt es nahe, Gramscis theoretisches Gebaude intellektueller Funktionen in detaillierteren Zusammenhang mit Marxismus und sozialistischem Wandel zu bringen - dies soll im vorletzten Kapitel geschehen. Als Marxist und politischer Aktivist war Antonio Gramsci der grosste sozialistische Denker im italienischen Faschismus. Seine intellektuelle Leistung ist vor allem durch die Gefangnishefte uberliefert, die wahrend seiner Haftzeit vor Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs entstanden und spater unter diesem Namen zusammengefasst worden sind. Gramscis Werk ist vor dem Hintergrund zu betrachten, dass er selbst politischer Fuhrer und Lehrender durch Vortrage und Leitung von Arbeitsgruppen war. Zentral in seinen Theorien ist die grundlegende Verknupfung von politischen und padagogischen Aspekten, mithilfe derer er ein Verstandnis der Uberlebensfahigkeit des Kapitalismus zu entwerfen sucht und gleichzeitig generelle Untersuchungen zur politischen Hegemonie anstellt - auch und vor allem, um daraus Erkenntnisse fur eine mogliche sozialistische Hegemonie zu ziehen. Die nahere Auseinandersetzung mit Gramscis bildungspolitischem Ansatz hat sich als sehr fruchtb"
