In the beginning, God had an idea. The idea was with God, and the idea was God. God spoke and the idea became a Word. The Word was God, but given the name King Jesus to express Himself in the flesh. A Kings desire is to expand. King Jesus created everything. He created heaven invisible, and earth visible. He created the angels to serve in heaven. He created humanity to serve on earth. God doesnt want humanity to come to heaven. He wants heaven to come to earth. King Jesus told humanity to pray to the Father, who is in heaven, for His Kingdom to come to earth. That we may do on earth as they do in heaven. God created Adam and Eve, a human family on earth, to lead humanity in His Law. God walked with Adam in the cool of the evening, and gave Adam His Law. Adam later sinned, and gave humanity the death sentence. To Love God, we must obey His Word. Our good acts do not impress God. Gods Love for humanity was so great, that He sent King Jesus to die for us, and cover our sins with His blood. King Jesus showed how much He loved us by His death. Death on the cross wasnt a religious act, but a redemptive act. King Jesuss life on earth wasnt as a religious leader. He came to rebuild a community on earth, as it is in heaven. King Jesus was a politician and a lawyer. He came to explain the Law of God, so we could join His community. To be a part of His community, we must obey all the laws of God. His community on earth was His Kingdom. It was under the exact same rules and principals, as those in the Kingdom of Heaven. After King Jesus returned to heaven, He sent a lawyer or counselor (the Holy Spirit), to do the same things He had done on earthto remind you of the Law.

The Bible Doesn't Say That explores what the Bible meant before it was misinterpreted over the past 2,000 years. Acclaimed translator and biblical scholar Dr. Joel M. Hoffman walks the reader through dozens of mistranslations, misconceptions, and other misunderstandings about the Bible. In forty short, straightforward chapters, he covers morality, life-style, theology, and biblical imagery, including: *The Bible doesn't call homosexuality a sin, and it doesn't advocate for the one-man-one-woman model of the family that has been dubbed "biblical." *The Bible's famous "beat their swords into plowshares" is matched by the militaristic, "beat your plowshares into swords." *The often-cited New Testament quotation "God so loved the world" is a mistranslation, as are the titles "Son of Man" and "Son of God." *The Ten Commandments don't prohibit killing or coveting. What does the Bible say about violence? About the Rapture? About keeping kosher? About marriage and divorce? Hoffman provides answers to all of these and more, succinctly explaining how so many pivotal biblical answers came to be misunderstood.

Sixty years ago, most biblical scholars maintained that Israel’s religion was unique—that it stood in marked contrast to the faiths of its ancient Near Eastern neighbors. Nowadays, it is widely argued that Israel’s religion mirrors that of other West Semitic societies. What accounts for this radical change, and what are its implications for our understanding of the Old Testament? Dr. John N. Oswalt says the root of this new attitude lies in Western society’s hostility to the idea of revelation, which presupposes a reality that transcends the world of the senses, asserting the existence of a realm humans cannot control. While not advocating a “the Bible says it, and I believe it, and that settles it” point of view, Oswalt asserts convincingly that while other ancient literatures all see reality in essentially the same terms, the Bible differs radically on all the main points. The Bible Among the Myths supplies a necessary corrective to those who reject the Old Testament’s testimony about a transcendent God who breaks into time and space and reveals himself in and through human activity.

The Bible is a perplexing book. It blends primitive beliefs with timeless truths, swings between compassionate love and ruthless violence, and forms a sympathetic heavenly father from the remains of a savage tribal god. What are we to make of it all? Petri Merenlahti takes an entertaining journey through biblical literature and returns with an original theology of imperfection. Looking at the Bible through the lenses of history, culture, literature, and psychology, he calls his readers to let go of an idealized image of the Christian Scriptures and embrace their limited human nature instead. This is vital, he argues, because false idealization and psychological splitting are major sources of religious fanaticism and violence. Merenlahti insists that we make a difference between the smaller God of human imagination and the transcendent God that should remain beyond it. We will then be rewarded with wisdom instead of fanaticism, mercy instead of moralism, and peace instead of hatred and guilt.

This is an examination of six major new versions, the New International Version, (NIV); New American Standard Bible, (NASB); New Revised Standard Version, (NRSV); Revised English Bible, (REB); Good News Bible, (GNB); and the New American Bible, (NAB). It includes: 1) The textual basis of the above new versions; 2) 379 New Testament verses in which the above new versions are compared with the Greek of the Received Text, and the weak evidence that is back of their adulterations; 3) a 200-page examination of the New International Version (NIV) shows that they have added over 100,000 of their own words, and have failed to translate over 20,000 of the original words; 4) a separate examination of the New American Standard Bible (NASB). There are 8 appendices, including a thorough critique of Kurt Aland's Text of the New Testament. Get acquainted with the facts, for God is going to look to you to warn his people that these new versions are adulterated with many of the heresies of the Gnostics and others. Also, since they all contain contradictions within themselves, and also contradict one another, love for your fellow saints should require you to let them know that the words they are reading are not all God's words. Jay P. Green, Sr. (1918-2008) is Translator and Editor of The Interlinear Hebrew-Greek-English Bible and the translator of the Modern King James Version of the Holy Bible, The Teenage Version of the Holy Bible, and the Literal translation of the Holy Bible. He has written numerous books on textual criticism.
